Places to Visit
Beaches - These range from the shallow warm beaches around the Mar Menor, to the wilder Mediterranean coast at Calblanque.
Calblanque Nature Reserve - This gets a special mention, because it is only a couple of Km from Playa Paraiso and offers walks, beaches and nature watching. Well worth a visit, any time of year.
Salinas - The Salinas de Marchamalo form a nature reserve in Playa Paraiso and are home to a wide selection of wildlife.
Bateria de Cenizas - The Portman guns. Impressive views, huge guns and a walk through lovely countryside.
La Manga Strip - Puerto Tomás Maestre (Marina) and the ferry to Santiago de la Ribera
Cities, Towns and Villages
Sports - Only 10Km away is La Manga Club, which is probably the most prestigious sports resort in Europe.
